Kio Kit Appeal
Can you help change a child’s life forever?
The pandemic forced many children in the UK to attend school online for a while but in remote regions of Kenya, it is often the only way to learn.
The Maasai people are facing huge challenges to their way of life. The pandemic, climate change and land reforms all mean that getting an education is vital if the next generation is to adapt and thrive in the face of such challenges.
Kio-kits are ‘classrooms in a box’, comprising 40 solar powered tablets pre-loaded with the national curriculum and a wealth of additional resources so children can learn remotely but effectively. In places where teachers are scarce and text books don’t exist, Kio-kits are often the only gateway to getting an education.
The first Kio-kit we bought last year is used every day by the children in a remote Maasai village on the edge of Rift Valley. Now we want to buy another ‘classroom in a box’ for another remote Maasai village and we need to raise £5000.
We hope you’ll help us.
